SugarHouse casino enters the city and the competition

Competition can be a good thing to keep you on your toes in business. But then you have the problem of how do you stand out. What is going to make your customers come to you versus going to your competitor?

That is the question facing SugarHouse Casino. Philadelphia might be the largest city with a casino but its’ certainly not the only casino in the area.

The competition in the state of Pennsylvania includes Parx in Bucks County, Harrah’s in Chester County and the Sands in Bethlehem. That doesn’t even include how close Philly is to Atlantic City and their casinos.

All of these casinos are facing tough times in this economy and with more casinos than they are all in competition for gamblers. The Atlantic City casinos are particularly hard hit because there are so many located in a small area.

SugarHouse is promoting that they have slots and all the popular table games. They are using the fact they are a good neighbors and employing the local population for many of their jobs. The casino is located in the city which means they are conveniently located near public transportation. They are offering free parking and 24 operating hours to make it as easy as possible to stop by.

Time will tell if all of these casinos can thrive in such close proximity or will start to face the same economic stress Atlantic City is feeling.
